What are leakage cameras?

A leakage camera at the bay catches washes that never reach your till. It reads the plate, make, model and colour of every car that comes in and checks it against your sales. A car that leaves with no sale becomes a red flag with a photo and the time, and staff cannot delete it. The camera costs about R2,500 per bay. That is the camera only: fitting is extra and you supply the wifi. We do not install cameras, but we can recommend a fitter. Without one, every sale is still timestamped, linked to the person who captured it, and charged at your set prices.

Does WashBase do the daily cash-up?

Yes. If you have no proper cash-up today, WashBase gives you one. At closing, the cash, card machine totals and payouts are checked against the sales staff captured. Any difference shows straight away. The end of day summary reaches your phone and your email.

Can I see how my car wash is doing without being there?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sales, cash-up status and profit for every site update on your dashboard through the day. Your phone gets a notification when the day opens and closes, when a sale is voided and when a customer leaves a low rating.

Do I need to replace my card machines or POS system?

No. Keep your card machines. At cash-up, WashBase checks their totals against the sales your staff captured.

What does it cost?

How do I get customers to come back?

Accepted Answer

Run stamps, points, or both. Stamps give a free wash after a set number of paid washes, for example every 10th. Points build up per rand spent and come off a later sale. You set the rules per site, including expiry. Staff see at capture when a customer has a reward waiting, and redemptions are recorded for you.

How do I know who worked today?

Staff clock in and out with their face on a phone or tablet. Every clock-in is saved with a photo and the time. The hours flow into the daily cash-up for your manager to confirm, then into wages and daily profit. WashBase can also build the next two weeks' schedule from your sales history and the weather, for you to approve.

Does WashBase do payroll?

Yes. Pay runs use the hours already recorded at cash-up, or a fixed salary, and work out PAYE, UIF and SDL. You get payslips (by SMS or PDF), an FNB payment file or a sheet for any bank, what you owe SARS each month, BCEA leave balances, final pay when someone leaves, the IRP5 file for your accountant, the monthly UIF declaration, and the Employment Tax Incentive you can claim back for young staff. WashBase makes the files; you pay through your bank and upload to SARS and uFiling yourself.

Does WashBase work for mobile car washes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Customers book you to their address from your booking page, add every car with its own services, and only see start times that fit the whole visit. A travel fee is worked out from the driving distance and added to the sale. Each team does one visit at a time, and the address is saved on the customer for next time. If you do both, customers choose at the car wash or at their address when they book.

Can I run more than one car wash on it?

Yes. Every site has its own products, settings and reports, and you see them all on one dashboard. Compare sites side by side and keep prices the same across them. Choose what each person can see, from group owner down to staff.

What reports do I get?

Sales by product, customer and payment method, daily operations, staff attendance, and profit per site. Add your expenses and overheads to see what you actually keep. Export to Excel or PDF, or have reports emailed to you.

Yes. A wash takes a few taps. Search finds a customer by name, phone or plate as you type, and the plate scanner fills in the vehicle in seconds. Several staff can capture at once across several sites.
